Gaineswood

Demopolis, Alabama

Gaineswood was built (and then added on to) from 1843 to 1861. It is considered one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in Alabama, although elements were also borrowed from other styles of architecture.

Gaineswood is now owned by the Alabama Historical Commission and is open for tours. For directions, hours, and costs, visit the Gaineswood Antebellum House Museum.
